ROYSE CITY - Mrs. Annie Laura McCreary, 85, died at the home of Mrs. W. H. Britton, at Timpson, Tex., Friday, at 4:20 p.m. She was born July 4, 1872, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Rice in Alabama. They came to Texas in 1879 settling at Poetry, Tex. She was married to Tom Adams at Poetry in 1892. He preceded her in death in 1909.
In 1911 she was married to F. J. McCreary, and they resided in and near Royse City. She was a member of the Baptist Church and at the time of her death held membership in the Graham Point Church.
Services will be held at the Royse City Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with interment in the Royse City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clem Fikes, E. L. Kohn, Clarence Mitchell, Frank Mitchell, all of Royse City; Clyde Brewer, Garland and Riley Smith, Mesquite.
Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Cummings, Hart, Tex.; four sons, Walter McCreary, Lubbock; John McCreary, Austin; Edgar McCreary, Garland; and Galen McCreary, Royse City; seven grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death in 1945.
Note::::: The date of migration to Texas is incorrect. The family was still in Limestone Co., Alabama, for the 1880 Federal Census, General Population Schedule.
